Importance of leadership development

We believe in the importance of developing youth leaders. This involves helping students grow in their faith and learning how to live it out through practicing Godly leadership.

We believe that Christian leadership skills (e.g., servitude) will be relevant in everyday life (e.g., in their future career).

We offer a place where youth can learn and practice these skills while being mentored. 

Leadership development class

Our leadership class includes formal leadership curriculum. 

Our leadership course has several portions:
  • additional martial arts training: to advance in martial arts.
  • skills development: the skills necessary for teaching martial arts (e.g., public speaking).
  • Godly leadership: lessons on how to engage in Godly leadership like servitude.

​CLASSES RUN YEAR ROUND
Eligibility 
Our leadership class is designed for a small group of between six and ten youth between the ages of 10 and 18.

​Youth must have already received kung-fu training with Kung-Fu for Christ, and have shown an interest in leadership.
Impact
As a result of our leadership course, youth have gone on to: 
  • teach at Kung-Fu for Christ,
  • volunteer for important leadership roles in their schools,
  • volunteer in their communities, and
  • ​use their skills in the workplaces.
Austin's story 
Austin started as a 7 year old, learned kung-fu, joined the  youth leadership class, became a kung-fu instructor, and now uses his skills coaching sports and mentoring youth in the community, and as a manager supporting employees in his workplace.  ​
Kung-Fu for Christ is research-based, and draws upon a combination sports, community development, social work, and faith- based research and theory to serve its participants.

​Kung-Fu for Christ ​is a not-for-profit program that uses martial arts as a vehicle for fostering physical, mental, social, and spiritual health.

Kids class - 7:00-8:00pm
Teens class - 8:15-9:15pm

Thursdays
Kids - 7:00-8:00pm
Adults - 8:15-9:15pm
